Finishing up my first AR pistol build and need ideas on optics. Do I really need one? I am more of an Aimpoint guy than Eotech. Is an RMR Trijicon too small?
I stuck a set of the new Magpul Pro irons on it for now and just ordered a TLR1 for the light. So I am thinking of getting either an Aimpoint PRO or ACO, or possibly an EXP2(?) Eotech. What's the hive say? |

A micro?
Eta. Didn't look past the picture. Get the aimpoint pro they can be had for cheap. I used the vortex with 3x mag but I'll go a different route on my current 10.5. |

I run sparc 1's on my 10.5 pistol and my dissy. Great optic for the money.

I have an M2 on my 11.5". It's similar to the PRO in size. A micro would be nice for the weight and space savings, but gigantor works fine for my purposes.

mine has a stamp, stock, and acog. It's personal preference, I do not prefer red dots on rifles

The SPARC is a damn good sight for the money own two of them and bought my friend one all of them work and hold zero. The magnifier that comes with it is stupid but hey for the money who cares.

I currently have a 1-4x24 on mine. I like it as the little 10.5" is still pretty accurate at range, but I admit its probably not as fun as a micro red dot would be.
EDIT: And its heavy. |

I have Eotechs on my two AR pistols and I love them. I have Aimpoint T-1s which are great and the most durable RDS, but I pick up the reticle on the Eotech must faster. That should help since you don't have a Sig shoulder brace to help steady the weapon .

i picked it up on Amazon for $159 this winter
i had the pistol with an A2 upper to start then i flattopped it with an aimpoint and a magpul flip up rear now it has an A2 rear sight again and a co witnessed reddot |

How are you mostly going to use it? I mean I wouldn't spend hundreds of dollars on the optic for style.
IMO aimpoints and eotechs have different roles. Aimpoint = always ready (grab and go) Eotech = duty/patrol (turn it on before you need it, whether it's for work or just walking your propert, etc) |
