Wouldn't Jesus have more in common with a Jedi than an human baby?
|
|
While I agree with the sentiment, just imagine how fun it would be if Jesus was like baby Yoda.

There is a reason why no image of him exists.
Not because of it's prohibited like ROPE'ers. |

Incorrect.
The hard line between gods and humanity has always been immortality (and to a lesser extent, the experience of "pain and suffering" as in gods inflict pain but do not themselves suffer it). Can a transcendental god ever share anything in common with the human experience? |

I visited a church in Israel that was dedicated to Mary. Many Christian nations contributed paintings of Mary. Mary in Europe is white with some blonde, some brunette, etc. Mary in Asia is yaller with single fold eyelid and depending on the contributing nation, different hairstyles. Mary in India looks Indian. Mary in Africa looks African. Mary from South America looks South American. The church itself didn't care as it was what Mary did & represented to Christianity that counted to them. I'm OK with that.
BTW, Jesus was a Jew who taught us a new way. Happy Birthday Hay-Suess! Full Metal Jacket Happy Birthday Dear Jesus |

That's the point, that's why Jesus was born as a human, so that He could pay for our sins. |

A monk who had been a historian at the Vatican said this in a presentation.
The Roman Emperors, over time, developed the myth that they were gods. Human until they became emperor. Their mothers were virgins and after death these emperors ascended to heaven. so when early Christians said that Jesus was born of a virgin and ascended to heaven all they were doing was comparing him to the roman emperor. |

His lineage is literally laid out in The Bible. From the Davidic bloodline, born of a virgin birth.

Guy has some theories...
What Did Jesus REALLY Look Like? Ethnicity, Hair, Skin, Eyes, Body Type. |

Quoted: He was jewish. View Quote I tell my congregation (inner-city) that God (from the time of Abram) chose the nation of Israel and that He did not change His mind and make Him black. Jesus was neither black nor white, he was Jewish. Some bring up Ethiopian Jews and I simply point out that they were not in the linage of David (Judah). I don't believe that Jesus Christ was white, black or Asian, He was as Jehovah GOD promised Abraham (and the nation of Israel), He was Jewish from the linage of David. To make Him anything else is incorrect and false. I preach the Word as it is, to the people as they are and let the Lord change us all. We should never change God to fit into our mold, IMHO. |

The human side would have looked like everyone else there. He was
physically unremarkable. Despite Him being in the area for three years and both He and His deeds were well known, they still needed Judas to make a positive ID. |

Jesus might have been brown, and I’m fine with that.
Santa Claus was white though. |

Quoted: I always figured he was kind of a swarthy dude. View Quote Our mental picture of middle eastern and Mediterranean people, is literally colored by the Post Jesus Muslim conquest. We know exactly what the ancient Greeks and early Romans looked like. Did the ancient Jews leave similar sculptures? I don’t recall. |

If he was around now we would probably drone strike the absolute shit out if him based on his appearance.

This is a painting of Jesus that Akiane Kramarik did when she was eight.
Kramarik is a self-taught painter and says that Jesus spoke to her when she was four years old, encouraging her to draw and paint her visions. She began to draw at the age of four, was painting at six, and began to write poetry at seven. At the age of 8 years old, Akiane painted Jesus. View Quote " /> The potrait of Jesus was verified by Colton Burpo when he was a young child and had a near death experience. His story was made into a movie, “Heaven is for Real.” |

However there were coins, and simple mosaics in Temples, etc. But it was not common at all to create a sculpture or painting of someone specific back then. |

Mary was Jewish and She was raped by a Roman Soldier so he was mostly white. I solved the great mystery!
I’m mostly kidding, mostly! |

Jewish people back then are different than what people think. Most people think of jewish being the jews of european descent.
