Austria - Like Germany but with gun rights and less minority issues

Switzerland - Stable economy. Don't know about gun rights for non natives though

I'd have chosen New Zealand once upon a time - but the country is a shit show now & I don't see the damage being fixable

Would pick either Finland or the Czech Republic - maybe Sweden
In all cases - somewhere rural - about 20 miles from the nearest town maybe

Oddball choice(s) - somewhere in the Channel Islands, maybe Jersey - or possibly the Isle of Man

Can I have all of the OP and Montana, Wyoming or Idaho? If I -have- to pick another country I'd consider Alberta, Canada. Supposedly less crazy than the rest of the country, much lower population density, similar environment to the Mountain West, I could still have a few rifles, woods carry permit might be possible.

probably stay in the US

the short list though is finland, sweden, poland, switzerland, CR, south korea of japan. i dont want to live in the tropics and have it be 95 with 95% humidity all the time

italy greece germany the UK and spain have some appeal but i dont think id want to live there permanently.

Lots of expats there, margaritaville scene around Buenos Aires/Rio de la Plata. Cost of living is dirt cheap and food is spectacularly good. You could do worse.
