I have a thread here on the Solstice

Can you share some pics? I am pretty impressed with the Solstice styling and Pontiac's attempt at a roadster, especially considering that I am generally skeptical of anything GM makes.

Very cool looking cars.
I'll own one as soon as they put a v6 in it!!! I'll bet it's an option next year!

I like the Solstice and I'm thinking about getting one, too...

HOWEVER, have you seen how FUGLY they look when you have to put the Front License Plate on them???

There has GOT to be a better way of mounting the plate!!!  The Front Plate just RUINS the beautifully sculpted front grill & curvature...

That's like buying one of the new 'Vettes and using the factory plate holder!

After talking with a company Rep about 2 months ago I was informed they already made a prototype with a V-6 Engine.

According to the guy I spoke with the V6 TOTALLY screws up the car's current 50/50 Front/Back Balance, and it simply RUINS the car's current (and fantastic) handling characteristics.  So I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for the V6...

I *DID* get to drive one that was tricked out with a lot of options and in the $26,000 range, but for me, I'd be happy with the $19,500 base model.  I don't need all the extra options they feel are "Needed" creature comforts.  It's a ROADSTER!  IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE COMFORTABLE.   (though surprisingly it is reall comfortable compared to classic roadsters)

I got to test drive one while I was installing a call center for a dealership. They're pretty fun! It's not my cup of tea, but it's a hell of a value at $19K.

Front plates ruin anything they're on.  Thank god PA doesn't require them.

One of my employees got one recently, One of the first things I noticed were the 245/45-18 tires....I asked him if he'd looked into the cost of replacement rubber, about a grand a set he said...Ouch.

I only get about 12k miles out of a set on my 240sx...I would imagine similar results from the solstice if he pushes it at all. Of cousre, YMMV

I like the Solstice.  However, my gripe with it is that it's extremely low, and that ingress/egress is difficult. I sat in one at the Chicago Auto Show, and it's a bit tough to get in and out.

I wonder if the Saturn Sky is any different.

It's a lot lower than, say a Mustang or a Camaro.

Just so anyone who is interested can find the source for all Solstice info:

It is by far the largest and most knowledgable community of Solstice folks.

They look pretty neat now, but just wait until all the fat college girls start driving them around.

It will become the new Eclipse.

This morning I told my wife to buy one so I can drive it with the top down on nice days, but she wants something boring with enough room for saddles and suitcases and groceries.
