HUGE UPDATE ON THIS DOG! This dog's actual owner has been found. I know some of the story, but not a lot. Of course we checked the dog for a chip, and called the number. Every effort was made to find the owner, but you will see why we couldn't. This is a service dog for a guy who was apparently in the military. He lives in NEW MEXICO. He went through what sounds like a bitter divorce, changed his number, and never updated the dog's chip. His ex-wife stole the dog from the dog sitter, and brought him across the country and dumped him. Hurt the dog to hurt the man. (I don't have enough ugly words for someone who would do this.) Finally a friend of the ex-wife told the guy what she did, and where the dog was. He is flying from New Mexico to Kentucky to get his dog. I apologize profusely to all who have helped push for a new home for this boy, and especially to @Amish_Bill who was looking at giving this dog a home with his mom (please apologize to your mom for us). We had no way to know and didn't want to leave this old boy alone in a shelter, but this is an unusual situation. I'm thrilled for the dog and his owner, and I thank you for your understanding. Y'all, update the chip info for your animals. ~Kitties    This guy was living outside in the cold with no food and no water, AC took him and charged his owner !! Now he is at the shelter waiting for the right person to come take him home and let him know what a warm bed is !!! I am paying for all his vetting and can help with anything after!! He just needs a loving home and someone to show home how dogs deserve to be treated !! |
Out in the cold? In Georgia?? Hope you got more than that. Animal control got called on me once, cuz my dog was outside "with no water or shelter. " middle of late spring, like 70 degrees. She was on a lead and knocked her bowl over, and wind had blown shut the fence door to the backyard (was a townhouse with small side yard and backyard) The AC officer looked a little miffed when I was actually home. Refilled the dish, stuck her doghouse in the doorway. Problem solved. |

He is good with other dogs we have not cat tested yet but we can !! He is in the Pendelton Kentucky shelter where Mark used to pull dogs through, he was out in the cold when the weather went to crazy cold below freezing with snow and he had no cover . I asked for the owners information, he needs to be chained up just the same in my opinion !! Mark and I used to talk for hours about things we would do the the ones that mistreated their dogs!! |

We are not a bunch of Karens. Some of us are deeply familiar with raising animals for food. The point of caring for your dog is not "keep animal control from having a case." The POINT would be making a decent life for your dog. If you don't want to do that, why do you have a dog? He's penned up. He's not protecting you from anything. He is not a companion for you or your kids. So...what's the point? AND...based on your post...if your neighbors called animal control on you, you MIGHT need to consider the way you manage your animals. This might be what my Mom was looking for - She 'wants' a Malinios, but also wants to take in an older dog to give it a nice last few years. I've pretty much convinced her that a crack addled fuzzy alligator is not a good choice, but I agree with the old dog part. It just has to be able to put up with 10-15lb yippers. |

I bought a full set of grooming tools for my newfoundland when he was a puppy. Watched numerous online tutorials and was ready to go. It turned out exactly as you would expect. Dog was sent to the groomer immediately afterwards and the tools were tossed in the garbage. Poor dog looked like he had some rare tropical disease until the hair grew back.
