He wants to install that stock on an 11-87. Sage do a conversion called the Sidewinder, whereby they relocated the recoil spring to around the mag tube (like a Franchi shotgun). I have no idea whether the conversion is reliable (I'd be skeptical): ![]() The big question for me is WHY ? Those M4 stock adapter abominations look butt ugly and flimsy as hell. My 11-87 has a Choate pistol grip stock - strong as a brick privy, and very comfortable to shoot with. Works with the standard recoil spring mechanism too, of course:

Mostly correct. I want to install the adapter for an A1 or RRA Entry Stock to reduce the LOP while maintaining the pistol grip. |
Then I would suggest you look at the Choate pistol grip stocks - they do them in standard and "body armor" lengths, giving adjustability with spacers from 11.75" to 14": ![]() Standard stock ![]() Body Armor stock (not sure if this fits the 1187) |

I agree with the length of pull issue as most shotguns are too long. Don't take it from me at Louis Awerbuck's shotgun course this year he complained about 90% of all his students had gun stocks fit for bird hunting not fighting. I use the Speedfeed stock on my 870s and 11-87P in the short (female) version. You loose the ability to hold shells in the stock but who cares... I'm 6'4" 250 and I use the girl stock... BUT, it works.... |
+1 on the Speedfeed stocks. Best $100 for a 'handy' shotgun I've found. The pistol-grip only thing doesn't work to well. The shotgun is a shoulder fired weapon. That from-the-hip shit is ignorant and makes no more sense than firing a rifle that way. Yes, with enough practice, it can be done. But it only makes sense if one arm isn't working or it's a inside-the-car gun. |

TC6969... Not sure what you mean on this. The short version of the Speedfeed stock doesn't come with the holes on either side to store additional ammunition. I agree with the comments on the pistol grip only setup. I use a 10" Remington 870 with a pistol grip only as a breeching gun and occasionally for very close in work. You can't beat the power and intimidation value provided by the 12ga. BUT, it's difficult to hit with much past 10-15 yards. |
Search TC's posts, I think at least 85% of them are loose/lose corrections.
