I ordered a 1919a4 with the a6 kit and linker and 10,000 links and tripod it finally shipped fedex going to be here Monday,, how many have belt fed guns? I'll have pixs of it in the gator next to the roadrunners she's going to be sweet....

Wolf you need to buy one of Emorys cranks. Once you get the tempo down, you get an equivalent of about 400 rpm. Which close to the real thing. Sounds impressive and looks impressive with tracers. Some of the guys have 2 1919s in tandem with cranks so youre getting 800 rpm. I bought an ORF 1919 in the group buy for about $1000. I had it on the coffee table for a while. Real conversation starter. |

Go visit 1919a4.com and read some posts. They also have an excellent photo tutorial of how everything works and how to take apart the gun. Top notch! I shoot 8mm out of my 1919. It is on a Bren tripod with an adapter made by someone on 1919a4.com. When I first picked it up I believe it was a 7.65 Argentine gun. Sent it to Todd @ Rapid Fire and he took it apart and slapped on an Izzy left side plate on the gun for me. I have a 30-06 barrel but I haven't shot 30-06 yet. I did shoot a few k of 308 when I first got it back from Todd but now just 8mm since it is cheap. If you do shoot 8mm (corrosive) make sure you clean real good with water/ammonia to nutralize the corrosive ammo. If you do shoot links, go to Guiette and pickup a few Trunnion Feedway Protectors. This will stop the wear on the trunnion. Even if it is a semi gun, I'd want to protect that if I could. Try a few belts, I tend to like belts a little more now. They are faster to load and seem to work a little better than links. Enjoy. |

I had one. make sure you check the headspace often. I didn't and ended up blowing up the cover. I got it fixed but it never really ran right after that. Sold it to a guy that was going to build one but decided fixing mine would be easier. It is a blast to rattle off a 100+ rounds without having to stop and reload!

It's at Black River Militaria right now getting an overhaul: replacing the cams and the ejector plate. I hope to get it back soon and start working on the Romanian 8mm in the garage. I really enjoy the belt fed stuff, so much so that I went to Norway in 2003 just to fire mg's. That's pretty crazy I know, but it sure was fun. Since I am procrastinator, serial number 1, I can't afford much in the way of beltfeds. I would like to get an mg42, but those are now very expensive. A year or so ago I ate dinner with an old time dealer up at Knob Creek and he told me that at one time the 42's were so undersirable that they were offered for sale by the pound. He went on to tell me that back in simpler days he was offerd 100 mg34's for $300 each. He passed because he did not know where he would store them. Makes you sick, doesn't it? |

the 1919a4 is fun. it is one of jmb's finest designs, imo. as a semi, it's rather heavy and bulky to haul out to just shoot a few hundred rounds with, but is surprisingly accurate for what it was designed to be. in full-auto, i find it to be the most reliable gun on the bulletfest firing line. they're always running while the m60's are getting wrenched on. |

| $25K for a 42 would be a good price, but it's all relative. Much depends on the Rule of Two. Say you buy a MG, or any gun (toy) for X. If you are married, the true cost may be 2X. Spend $30K on a toy and see how long it is before mama wants a new car, etc. The 2X law can be a real hiderance to toy buying. |

i never use a gauge. just click it untill it locks,, then open it up one more. test fire, inspect spent brass and go at it some more. if it heats up and shuts down, click it open one more notch and keep running. holding that spring clip out and rotating the bbl. is a bitch when it's hotter than hell. |
You need to get a 3006 barrel locking spring. It is much eaiser to adjust the barrel all you need is a flat head screw driver. I got mine from Sarco only $3.75
