You have all of the parts so that's a good start. Dust it off and see what the caps look like.

The plug for the electrical outlet looks scary.

I much prefer old electronics to tinker with.
My Compaq Deskpro 286 motherboard I was able to easily diagnose and fix it when the keyboard stopped working. A pico fuse blew and was easily replaced. |

It’s old. Get an adjustable isolation transformer, or an adjustable AC power supply to creep up on supply voltage, so not to shock the tubes before they warm up.

Do you make use of the light-bulb in series with the primary to help protect againt huge inrush currents?

Very cool. I've got an old Philco radio at home I'd love to get working again. It's a console type with world band.

That’s so cool op! I have my dad’s GE X371 that I have hauled around my entire adult life. It was used as a piece of furniture for ever until this year. I found a local shop to fix it and I just got it back about two weeks ago. I’m blown away by it. I never expected it to sound so good.
They added a Bluetooth sound board to it that works perfectly on the Phono setting. I’m able to stream to it and enjoy it as much as possible. I plan to hook up a wire antenna to try out the shortwave radio at some point. Good luck with your project! Attached File |

Looking good. Removing those caps can be a job. I just ordered a slew of caps for my project. Seems I always need a value I am out of.

Looks good. For that crunbling inductor/coil form I wonder if some super thin 'superglue' could be applied lighty to the coil to soak in and firm it up?
