I hate Japanese cars and trucks even being here in America in the first place, but that motor looks cool and I admire the skills it takes to make custom swaps like this happen. It is with utmost reluctancy that I tag this thread for the outcome.

Chevy powered Mustangs

Ford powered Camaros

Cummins powered 70 Chevy.

Gotta add to the list of different vehicles.

Why the fuck not?

Looked at a build on an LS forum earlier today where a young kid is sticking an LSx in a Subaru. He is/was doing most of the welding and fabrication in his dining room. Yes, in his dining room.

Motor is powered by electric.
Engine is powered by combustion.

I guess you should get a Tesla motor over a Prius motor.

As with the Corvette and Camaro you posted, if it's a baseline v6 model or a gutless emissions era model, the reality is that almost every one LS's or Big blocks these vehicles.  So you can do what everyone else does, or you can have a one of a kind piece.  There's nothing wrong with following tradition, but there may be something inherently right by pissing off the traditionalists with your unique power plant.

Take it to a show and fire it up.  Take pictures of the reactions, revel in the hatred.

Sorry,  the truck is going to be built a little different.  You cant say it will be a cookie cutter hot rod.  My buddy wanted something different,  and it was decided something different from the common LS and Coyote and SBF cars was in order.

The look of the truck,  Other than sitting a little lower will be the same.

Seriously disappointed in the lack of diesel here.
Detroit Diesel 4 or 6 cylinder 53, or if you are brave, a 71.
Find an old school GM Diesel stamped valve cover for it to date it.

I've never been able to get into the 2js.  They don't sound particularly special and they look like generic inline sixes.

Modern street machine = 6.0LS with autotrend efi to look like 4 or 6 rochester 2gs.

Period = 292 inline six, offy intake, real strombergs.

I'd rather have the 292 over the 2jz every single day of the week and twice on sundays.

Excellent choice OP.
Nothing more boring than a Chevy with the bellybutton of engines, the SBC.
like an LS has never been done before either.
Your Toyota choice is excellent, replace one straight six with another, I like it!!
Nothing better than to see something that the builder has gone off the reservation and done something different.
