Try the 4wd selector switch. I own an 01 Silverado, and it is a fairly common failure. There really is no way to test it; you just pull off the trim around your dash, undo a few clips, pop it out and unplug it. Plug the new one in, put it back in the dash, install the trim. If you have Autotrac 4wd, then I am willing to bet it's the switch. The dealer has them and I don't think they are very expensive. However, if you don't have Autotrac, then I think there are some other components that could result in your issue. If you have Autotrac, I suggest trying the switch. I bet that's your problem Kevin |
