This is a very interesting (if somewhat long-winded) read on the looming lookout.
http://www.tsn.ca/blogs/bob_mckenzie/?id=404989 another decent article http://www.wjla.com/articles/2012/09/nhl-lockout-2012-labor-negotiations-stagnant-as-time-ticks-down-79742.html Hopefully it won't happen, but IMHO its looking like it will. But at the end of the day there is a silver lining for Islanders fans everywhere ![]()

you mean people actually watch hockey ?? if the NHL fell off the face of the earth today, you think anybody out side of canada and a few fat dudes in the NE someplace would even notice. ? This is how I feel about hockey. Some of you guys probably feel the same about sports I enjoy watching. I will add that it sucks that most "athletes" and owners are so hungry for money that they will let stuff like this happens. Lockout = no games = no one watching = no money. Kind of like biting the hand that feeds ya. |

Before you start in on me I went to TWO Panther games last season..took the wife and both teens w/me, got fancy seats , the nine yards so I am $$ supporting my local team. The crowd there was well ..not there. Well I can say that despite the Snowbirds... Florida shouldn't even have one NHL team, let alone two. |

No NHL, means no interruption of the constant and mindless blathering about all 387 NBA teams on thier endless schedule of 887 games, before starting the 787 game playoffs.
Only the NHL provides a break from the endless faggotry. I hope like hell the two sides manage to find an agreement, but I ain't holding my breath. |

People say that about the Hurricanes too. The league needs teams around the country, and find way to draw in fans.

The NHL posted a self serving suckup piece to the fans on their Facebook page this morning... Within seconds it had blown up with people telling them to fix it or pound sand. As a superfan it made me proud. I saw the post, and the responses too. +1 to your comment |
