Get a head start on the New Year's resolutions. Lay out some goals. Once you tell someone else, you are more apt to follow through.
I'll start 1200 miles run Weight below 180 30 pull-ups in a single set |
| Well I turn 40 in December 2014 and would like to total over 1000 for squat, bench, and deadlift as well as being as lean as I was in my early 30's. I'm currently 155 pounds and can total over 900 so the 1000 is well within reach. I'm about 12% body fat right now so the hard part could be getting to 1000 and maintaining it while getting down to 8% body fat. |
| I'd like to hit the gym and get in better shape. Not necessarily lose any weight, but just tone up some. I'm also working on getting a lot of my debt paid off. Get everything but my car paid off is the plan. I'm also going to cut back on my drinking. I don't drink a lot now as it is, I just plan on drinking less. |

Weight 175 or below
Incline Press over 250 by my birthday in Aug. Squats and Deadlift at least 250 or more by my birthday. Also, I'm currently weak as $@!* and would like to be able to knock out 10-12 unassisted pull ups and dips by that time as well. I did a mile on the treadmill last night in 18.5, I'd like to get that cut in half. |

Loss of 80ish pounds of fat (I need to lose more than that, but we're talking a year's time), while putting on 10 or so of muscle. NEVER miss a workout all year. Lift as much weight as I can, and then add to that. It'll be a while before I've got my max lifts figured out, so this target isn't set yet. I'll be starting 5x5 tomorrow, as opposed to the lifts I've been doing to refamiliarize my body with lifting heavy things while I figured out how I wanted to set my routine. At some point, I'll add cardio back in, I used to run 5 mile courses 4 days a week, and while I don't see going all the way back to that, I'd like to be able to run the 5s again on a regular basis.

Cut my wife's budget in half which will allow me to pay off my truck early and then be debt free minus the mortgage.
Sell this house, bank the money and fix up what will be my last home before I leave my wife and move to Alaska to live by myself. Get my bodyweight up to 220 at 10-15% bf Keep getting my wife to slap my ass when she walks through the bathroom. Girls love squatter butt. |

I had two surgeries this year so I didn't make much progress. I'm going to try for the same numbers I wanted to hit this year. 525 deadlift 425 squat 275 bench Keep my body weight around 200#s This should all be very doable. get back to the gym and regain my April numbers. and get yoked. |

505 Deadlift (up from 405 a month ago)
Body weight OHP (currently 217, my OHP is 145 x2 at the end of a workout, current max is probably in the 155-160 neighborhood) Keep my weight under 220 lbs. Do the Nijmagen ruck march in July.... If I can get the bitch out of my blood and start my training program in January. |

By the time my birthday rolls around in April I want to be able to . . .
Deadlift 405 (PR was 325 for a double) Squat 315 (current PR 270) These should be pretty easy but its the second time I have set a goal in lifting so I am feeling it out. EDIT: I would like to do this while maintaining my bodyweight of 185. |

Getting a six-pack by my 50th birthday (without losing lean body mass) is the goal I've been working toward for a couple years. My birthday is in mid-April, and I'm on track to achieve it! I'll be the first to admit that it's a silly goal, but it was one that seemed almost impossible, but still doable, and I have achieved a lot of other good things in the process in terms of strength, stamina, mobility and general athleticism. I started out at 230 pounds and over 30% body fat. |
|
Drop down to my mid twenties weight of 205-210. I am currently up to around 235. It is all in my midsection unfortunately, and mostly from drinking and eating garbage. That being said...here is my plan for success to attain that goal:
1. Stricter diet, focusing on healthier and more balanced meals. Carry lunches to work rather than eating out. Not eat within 3-4 hours before bed. 2. Cut back on drinking, especially beer. Will also save money which is nice. 3. Become more routinely active during the course of normal daily events 4. 20-25 miles a week running in addition to a strength program Good luck to everyone else on their goals! |
|
Lose fat. Gain muscle. Become bigger, faster and stronger.
1.5 miles in 12 minutes. 14.05 is my best so far. BP to 250 SQ to 275 DL to 350 None of that should be a problem. I have some financial goals for 2014 that will involve much more effort, and will feel just as good. |

Get out of beginner lifters status..
Will take roughly - Bench 300 Squat 400 Dead 500 I'll have to end my cut one of theses days and switch programs to achieve any of this. Hopefully be done cutting by March at the latest. Then will start a controlled bulk & switch to a 5x5 of some sort. |
