| anyone have one? thinking about it and interested to know what you think if you have one. |

It isn't an F150, but I have a 2015 15 passenger Transit 350 with the Ecoboost, and it throws that big van around like a toy. It is mean off the line and pulls hard all the way to redline. Motor Trend tested it 0-60 in seven seconds flat! It upset the F150 for 2015 Truck of the Year and finished second to the Chevy Colorado.
I LOVE this engine! It is stronger than any V8 I've ever owned. 70,000 trouble free miles. I'm a Chevy guy, as my Dad was a GM engineer for 45 years, and I've always had great experiences with them, but this Ford powerplant is something to behold. Honestly, I don't think anyone makes a bad full sized truck these days, so I'd say find what you like and go for it. As for me, I'm VERY impressed with the Ecoboost. |

I have a 16 and love it. Pull a 9k lb 31 foot travel trailer with it and love it. It's quick can get 23mpg if you watch your speed and has no issues pulling my trailer.
Plus it's loaded with fancy stuff. One thing to keep in mind is that a 2017 is a first year engine and trans. It has very little in common with the 16 and prior eco but has 50more hp and tq and 4 more gears. |

I playing with picking up an F150 for a service vehicle. The tech who it will go to pulls a boat from time to time. It looks like there are 3 engine sizes. Which ones will pull a boat once in a while? I think its like a 35' cigarette style thing. |

Can't tow.
Can't do 80 in the fast lane with a 9k lb trailer a half dozen times a year. You'll be a fucking schmuck in the slow lane doing 55 or 60 and that's just unsafe to others when you're not running at, or exceeding, the speed limit. It'll make you have to drastically change your driving habits. You can no longer look at the bumper of the car in front of you because you'll take so long to stop. Plus it will take you longer to get where you're going. That damn aluminium body is so light that the slightest mouse fart crosswind will catch your trailer and flip you over even when parked. Ain't no man alive that could possibly have the character to drive at a prudent speed for conditions. Going to need a F450 if you got anything more than riding mower behind you. |

Fo!
I had an '11 eco-beast and loved it. Sadly I wanted a heavier truck and got a '16 F-250 PSD. I do miss that 3.5 when it spooled up. Although the 6.7l PSD is no slouch when you stomp on the skinny pedal. I'll never forget the time I was pulling my 30' camper and a friend of mine was following in his older Dodge 3500 cummings pulling a smaller 5th wheel. He said he had no problem keeping up with me until I got to the back side of the river valley and I dropped a couple gears down and mashed the skinny to the floor to climb the hill. I'm pretty sure I was accelerating all the way up. He told me that he couldn't believe his eyes. |

I have a 17 F150 4x4 Sport 4dr, 3.5eco with the 10 speed auto and 3.55gears. Has been great, no issues, gets 19mpg with a 25/75 mix of highway/city. Pretty fast, did good in the snow and rides nice. Back seat is HUGE.
Only thing I noticed is it took a week to get used to the 10speed and how/when it shifts. That and the auto start/stop while at a light. Don't ever notice that now. J- |

I've had my 2017 Lariat SuperCrew for about a month now and absolutely love it. 3.5 EB, 10 speed transmission, FX4, sport package, max tow package, completely optioned out. It drives like a dream, feels like a luxury SUV inside, and absolutely moves. I love it. Get one.

The 3.5 Ecoboost is probably the best gas powered truck motor there is, the truck is about as good as it gets also. ![]() ![]()

Some will make a case for the 2.7L ecoboost, or the 5.0 V8 If you ask me, the GM 6.2 is king of the hill. Great horsepower, torque, comparable MPGs (To be fair, the eco-boost is either eco or it is boost.) - and without turbos and the intercooler setup and yada yada. I do love my 5.7 Hemi, but I do think GM's motor is something special. Ram's eco-diesel is neat, it will be cool to see ford's diesel! Being the best in an EPA-neutered field... Man it's sad that these companies have to sell what the hippies will let them, vs what their customer wants being the end all be all decider. |

Great trucks, put 80k on my 2012 with out a single problem. Went with a 2016 king ranch because stop start shit bugs me.

They don't call them Dodge's anymore so poll invalid, lol.
Cylinder deactivation gets me 20mpg hwy. Easily turned off by putting the 8 speed in 8th gear via steering wheel buttons. |
