Guys, check NOTAMs. It's madness, everything closing down except Charlies and Bravos. Many close for the whole day. This is going to impact your flight plans if you're going anywhere near the eclips path on Monday.

Why are they doing this? Planes fly at night all the time, what makes this so different?

Not seeing this in the New England region (yet).

Everyone on this FAA domestic notice is showing that notice on their NOTAMs.

Many of them in the New England region are also showing this ZBW NOTAM.

I did a quick NOTAM search for a dozen or so of those and none were showing any eclipse-related closures.

Given that the New England area is apparently going to have the best weather along the route it would not be surprising if some of the longer runways like KBML start to get busy with private jets tomorrow and Monday morning. They better get in early because people are predicting massive traffic jams.

I'm flying the helicopter with some friends up to their camp near the Canadian boarder. We'll have no problems with traffic jams or closed airports

Still not seeing any around here.....business as usual.  Which airports are you referring to?
