4 / 2,251 Was supposed to be 8 this morning and 4 later. Woke up with zero energy. I think it's a combo of historical sleep debt and possibly picking up a small bug from my youngest since school started. Had a good workout long run scheduled for tomorrow, but I don't see any way that's going to happen. |

15.45/2680.90 Picked up a pair of the Nike Pegasus Premium on sale and I am loving them so far. Very responsive and no issue cruising at 7:15 miles even though they weigh around 12oz. |

Its another tiny step towards building a marathon base and some more miles instead of only doing 20-25 a week at threshold. Im around 30-35 mpw now, hoping for an honest rolling 40+ by Thanksgiving. Ive come to the sad determination that its MUCH easier to do that running in the 9's than the 7's and 8's. I mean, I always knew it, but I never believed it.

7.97 / 1135.98 Since I've been upping my mileage and shifting training toward a November HM, I've noticed my speed sessions have been suffering. Part is the heat but I should be able to do these intervals at target pace with active recovery. The last few have been 75% success. Or perhaps I'm too stubborn to back off of the target pace. Regardless, I'm shooting for 200 miles this month which will be a new record. 14 planned tomorrow. |

But over the last year I've transitioned from Brooks to an all-Saucony shoe rotation. Azuras for easy and long runs, Speed 5's for interval and threshold work, Pro 4's for race day. The Speed 5's have about 300 miles on them currently, which is more than the other two. Seem like they are holding up fine. They are not as responsive now as they were when brand new. I'll still use them for another 100 miles or so before they are retired. I did get another pair while they were on sale. Sitting waiting for use in the closet. All 3 have the speed roll type rocker. IMO it presses into your arch a little more than the Brooks for example. But all are definitely lighter than the Brooks. I've had both the Brooks Glycerins and Adrenalines. |

And I feel it afterwards, for sure. I think Keen runs in a bunch of different Sauconys, he might know. If you get the hurricanes, let us know how they work. Im a terrible shoe whore. I used to tease my wife about all her shoes. Now I look at my shoe stash and I get it lol. |

14.02 / 1150.01 Did 12 easy and then the last 2 a bit slower than HM pace. I've been noticing the easy zone 2 runs have been getting faster. I'm sure some of that has to do with the dew point not being 80F, but still it's encouraging. 202 miles this month. Next week will likely be a down week due to weekend obligations. |

These things take stability to the next level. Initial thoughts are that I really like them. Heel pain was near zero. We’ll see how they feel after a few more miles. Attached File |

20.1/2098.53 Trail run- Drank last night, shouldn’t have. Woke up late. Puked in a park toilet. Started down pouring right as I parked. Tried waiting it out but gave up and ran in the rain 25-40% of the run. Stopped at truck acting as A/S. Didn’t stop watch for any stops. Restroom stops x3 Cramp that stopped me cold in my tracks ate a whole LMNT pack to cure cramp. Wanted to get 20 in and got it done. Then Got home and continued working on our bathroom remodel. |

7 / 2,262 It turns out the extra fatigue I was feeling Wednesday was actually illness coming on. Bailed on almost all the volume of my planned runs Friday-Sunday (kept the streak, of course) and today was easing my way back. Light-ish workout tomorrow. |

| This morning’s run was rough. Wanted to do 13, did 13, but the Brooks Hyperion Max 2 are a harsh ride. They are best suited for a faster pace than what I was doing, but I wasn’t feeling like hauling ass today. Did hit 376 miles this month to mark my highest monthly total to date. |

8.0 / 1178.0 Decided to get up before 5am and get my intervals in before the heat. Got to the track just as the sun was coming up. Most of the run was in the cooler temps and shade. Sun started heating the track towards the end but certainly even that was cooler than what it will be later today. For you pros out there, I'm curious how you fix the heavy leg feeling toward the end of a hard run. I did 6x800 today and the first 4 were fine. Had to work more for the 5th and the 6th was gas pedal to the floor but legs were not turning over as fast as the applied gas. More strides? More weight training? Just not sure. TIA |

8.05 / 2,300 Was supposed to be 6x mile at half marathon effort, I got in 2. And those two were a good deal slower than I wanted (especially the second). Just felt like I couldn't do much and that continuing would be counter-productive so I just got in a couple easy miles after canning the workout. |

12.0 / 1190.0 Arrived at a popular trail at 0700 and the parking lot was 75% full. Some were just finishing the runs. Regardless the first 2/3 of the run were cool, shaded and pleasant. Last third wasn't bad but the temperature was noticeably creeping up. Been happy how the pace has been improving for zone 2 runs with better climate condiitons. |

14.02/2804.52 Decided to wear the Brooks Hyperion Max 2 today and make this a fast run. They did much better at tempo and refused to let me slow down at the end even though I really wanted to just jog in the last couple miles. |

8 / 2,333 25,008 miles on the running streak now. Not sure how I missed the milestone yesterday. I got over a short illness last week just in time to get another one. Last time it was mostly heavy fatigue, now I've got a cough and some gunk in my lungs. Bleh. I'm ready for all this to be over so running feels more normal. |

4.1 / 2,337 Felt decent enough despite a cough when I went to bed, but spent a solid chunk of the night awake coughing. Slept an hour past my alarm, just got some super-easy miles in just to do it. I'm taking the rest of the week easy according to how I feel. Likely no workout or even a long run this week. |

Felt decent enough yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon and went out for a planned lazy run which I cut short due to some exercise induced hematuria. Other than that I feel great! ;). Thanks for asking. |
