Sorry, but any ad description for an LED Spotlight had better have the word "Luxeon" in the product description for it to be worth a shit as a spotlight. This thing should throw out a fair bit of light and run a loooong time, but it will never be like a Luxeon powered LED light, Luxeon lights are rated by wattage: 1w flashlight/headlamp = 2 cell maglight. 3w flashlight = Surefire G2 equivalent. 5w = Proper tactical flashlight. All LED's lack the "throw" ability of an incandesent bulbed flashlight, but they are WAAAYYY brighter for the power used. I have a 1w headlamp that works very well for hiking and runs 44 hours on 4 AA's, and a Night Ops Gladius which is a 5w. Both are painful bright, but the Gladius is the first LED light I've seen that is bright enough to check the perimiter around your property. That and the strobe mode will really fuck a guy up.
