I recently found some 20rd AR15 mags in my storage locker. They are all metal body with all metal followers. It looks like I have some made by three different companies. I looked for info on net but could not find any. I know with all the talk about banning certain items some people are selling these at crazy prices. I do not need these mags but had some questions, if any answers I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Magazine Markings:
Colt AR-15 (with pony) cal. 5.56
Simmonds M16/M16A1 5.56mm
Adventure Line MFG.

Are these any good?
Are these the type they want to ban?
If I sell them what would a reasonable price be?

Thank You All

Colt AR-15 are very desirable. The Simmonds I believe were 1970's mags, some were USGI issue. Can't comment on Adventure Line.

Post them up on EE. Oh wait, this is GD - just send them to me.

I like 20 rounders for bench rest shooting.

Those are all USGI issue. Could be Vietnam era.

All are good. Some pay premiums for Colt marked mags. but the others are just as good.

Straight 20-round mags are what the AR-15 was designed to use best. Those mags you listed are all USGI and are good to go. You may want to replace the springs if they're worn, but that's it.

Those are crap. They only hold 20 rounds. Everyone wants plastic mags that hold 30 rounds. I'll take them off your hands for $2 each.

I'm guilty too. I found a 20rd Colt, a 30rd Colt, and an M14 mag
I don't even own anything the M 14 mag fits

This is why they are popular among CMP service rifle shooters.

They are excellent mags, I actually like them better than the 30 round mags.

Before the recent panic buying they would usually go for $15 to $20 each depending on condition.
They are pre-ban mags (made before Sep.1994) so you might get a better price selling them to someone in a ban state like NY or MA.

Those are pure crap, I don't know why anyone would want to drive up the prices on such junk!  However in the spirit of the holidays and good will I am willing to bump it to $5.50 each, but only if the OP pays shipping.    Yes, the older 20's with the metal followers are excellent and prized by high power shooters.
