Anyone have a project planner to help give me a few pics/screen shots for a deck project?
Elevated deck is 12' deep by 20' wide against the back of the townhouse. Looking at putting 8' 4x4 posts on the deck and securing them to the rail posts and deck surface. 3 rail posts on the 12' sides and 4 on the 20'' side. 10 total. The posts will be used as a Pergola concept for curtains, so they will have a beam connecting them at the top of the 8 footers. Rail is a standard 30" high with 4x4 posts and 2x2 pickets. If you can add something similar to a tied back curtain, in between the 8 footer, it'll be a bonus. a side pic and angled pic are needed. 3-4 views preferred. I looked online for their planners and they all sucked. For the person who can do it, I will buy you a bronze membership for a year. TIA |

Do you want plans like you'd read or something like this? http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/06/cc/ec/06ccecfa56a75262fd60cacaadf2ed81.jpg Pictoral will be fine. Need to show da wife and HOA. There will be no top, just posts, connecting beams and side curtains. Reason for no top is we get hit with afternoon Sun bad and an umbrella doesn't help due to angle. |

Getting ready to add onto a small deck/ramp at home to accommodate the youngest grandson who's in a wheelchair. Lowes has a service to design a deck, but you have to log in with an account. My son has an account, so we'll see. You might google Lowes deck plans and see what happens. Remember, the dreaded HOA and county rules/regulations will have final say.
Plant corn to hide the deck |

The top is gonna be open. I guess make a normal deck and the add the 8 footers on top of the deck with beams connecting the tops of the 8 footers. What's the total height you want this thing to be? From the top of the railing, to the ground? What you're seeing right now is the deck sitting on top of the 8 footers. Do you want another set of 4x4s that go up 8' after that? |

Let me see if I can reduce complicate this, disregard elevated deck. "Curtain" posts will be 8' on top of the regular deck surface. The deck is already existing, just adding the 8 footers for curtain siding.
I knew this would be complicated based on what I tried to do. I appreciate the assist. I really do. |

How's this? Are you saying you want the curtains on all 3 sides? How are the measurements? I've got 8' bottom posts, 30" railing, and 8' top posts. http://i.imgur.com/F1PgWDI.jpg Here we go. Yes, Curtain on the three sides. The back side will have 4 posts. starting from the inside corners and spaced evenly. What you did looks just fine for the measurements. ETA - no staircase.
