Not really sure where to put this. Hope this is the correct spot. This place is great. I haven't been here too long and have already learned more crap than I know what to do with. My question is this: Anyone here had any experiences with Pinzgauers? I am considering replacing my old FJ60 with one of these little beasts. If anyone has knowledge, owns one or can release some info I sure would appreciate it. Thank you kindly. |

I've never owned one myself but several of my friends do and they swear by them. Sort of a scaled-down Moog. I've seen them traverse some really horrible shit with seeming ease. If you want to come down to Phoenix for the SAR/gun show in December, there will be a company which sells Pinzgauers on display. Luck, SD |

Thanks folks!! I've got a Ford. A 1979 F250 Club Cab 2 wheel drive. Great old truck. I ran a '85 FJ60 for years and that was a heck of a rig. with 350,000 miles on it and still running I traded it to my step daughter for a Volvo St. Wg. for my daughter. The 4 cyl. in the Pinz attracted me to it initially. Looking for a utilitarian 4X that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to feed. I had considered another FJ60 or 40 but the remembering the gas mileage gave me pause to reconsider. I've pretty much always had old truck that wheeze and clank and grumble down the road so I feel sure the Pinz won't be a big problem in that regard. From what I've read Highway speed might be a little ponderous. I just would like to converse with someone with some experience with them before making a decision. I will IM the gentleman who owns one. Thank you very much. |

I've heard some of the best 4x4 on the market. Pricey. My 97 XJ was set up really well and it would go most places. Made Crown King an easy day outing. No sweat. 6" lift, 33x12.5, Safari Rack and a snorkle. Lighting 360 deg, VHF/UHF radios. All set up. It was a very nice rig. I miss it. |

They're pretty cool. They are fairly capable off road. There are almost NO aftermarket parts for them though. There are some guys in one of the clubs I am in who have them. You might want to join the list and ask your question there. www.azbackcountry.com/ |
