Quoted: Hope you like them for that price! I buy them as they are simple decent hot dogs and are very reasonable here, I pay $2.50 to $3 per pack. They're not a premium brand. View Quote Expensive, I know. But this is all I wanted. A plain and simple beef & pork hot dog, like we used to eat 40 years ago. |

Smiths are excellent, but aren't easy to find outside of northwest Pa. Koegels and Boer's Head are good, as are Hoffmans. If they don't come in a casing...

Tier 1 hotdog is an oxymoron. They're made from animal parts that you don't want to know about. That being said, Hebrew National, Nathan's, Boars Head, and Sabrett's are all good.

View Quote They used to be a great all-purpose hot dog, until they cheapened the product by adding poultry meat. |

I remember Kahn's Big Red Smokeys being really good, even when heated in the microwave. Can no longer find them around here, though.

Quoted: Quoted: Hebrew National Like it or not, the Jews know how to make a good hot dog. This. Or Nathan’s. those. wagyu hot dogs from snake river are pretty good too, but 12-15 dollars for a 5 pack makes it hard to swallow grilling up 30 dogs for 10% better at triple the price. some heathens even prefer HBN or nathans to snake river. https://www.snakeriverfarms.com/american-wagyu-hot-dogs.html |

Quoted: FPNI But watch the Nathan's hot dog eating contest on the 4th OP. Then you might change your mind to making a brisket or pulled pork. View Quote https://majorleagueeating.com/contests/914 |

Quoted: Going to have to try those again. I buy natural casing dogs from a local butcher that are awesome. I tried Nathan's years ago and thought the were waaaay to damn salty for my taste. Maybe I got a bad batch . View Quote You didn’t. I like hot dogs, but Nathan’s is way down below Oscar Meyer on my totem pole. I wish I could find the brand the Varsity uses. |

I really like Ted's hot dogs from up north. He's also my wife's cousins uncle or something like that. Met him once, nice guy. Their hot relish is straight fire too.

People posting dogs without natural casing are out of their minds as a good hotdog to buy .
That being said a good sausage grilled on your outdoor grill smothered in grilled green peppers and onions beats any hotdog. |
