10 years ago I must have spent $8k out the 4wd Hardware catalog while rebuilding my CJ7. Fast forward to today I get the latest catalog looking for bumpers and gears for my 16 JK and the entire catalog is Smittybuilt bullshit and other equally craptastic junk for manufacturers  I have never heard of. Did one buy the other or are they otherwise engaged in some sort or retail circle jerk?
what has become the go to place for quality Jeep off road parts? Quadratech and JC Whitney sucked a decade ago so please spare me.

I loved northridge4x4 when I had a jk. They have (when I was in the market at least) amazing customer service and good prices. Where I bought pretty much everything. Jkforum was the forum I was on then too but this was 3 years ago.

I'm a demolition contractor and have nine winches in use right now. We used two today on one job. Four of those nine are Smittybuilt. The Smittys are lasting just as long as the Supers and Warn. I'd like to know how much first hand experience you've had with any of the Smitty winches.

ARB stubby and EVO sliders on my JK. I'm extremely happy and they are well made products. Looking at Expedition One for the rear bumper. I had a Shrockworks bumper on my Xterra and loved the quality but disliked the 9mo lead time.

They're significantly different if you actually go to their store vs their catalog.

Not sure if they will have what you are looking for but I was pointed towards this outfit from the Survival section. Top notch folks. I ordered a shackle mount and 2 shackles. They kindly called to let me know te shackles I had ordered wouldnt fit the shackle mount, then proceeded to get me the shackles I needed. Pretty happy with their products and service.

Mine is slow and a bit noisy but otherwise GTG.
Shittybilt 8,000lb winch on a Toyota 4x4.

FWIW, Smittybilt has always been the Harbor Freight of offroad stuff.
Some utter garbage, some decent stuff and a few amazing bang for the buck things mixed in,

They made a name for themselves with the thin walled double tube bumpers and useless bed mounted "roll bars" style bars back in the "all show, no go" era of 4x4 that was the 1980s.

They are Toyota specific so not much help for your jeep.

I have two Smittybuilt XRC 8 winches, both have been great winches for the money.
The only issues I've had is one hand control stopped working. Easy fix, crimped connectors worked loose.
I did put a heavy coat of dielectric grease on all electrical connections when I mounted them.

If they burn up, I'll buy more Smittybuilt winches. You can pretty much can buy 4 for tthe price of one Warn.

Only Smittybuilt items I've owned, I do know first hand (buddy) that their sliders and bumpers are super soft.

A friend of mine trashes Smittybilt because he put one of their synthetic ropes on a winch not designed for synthetic and it melted.
