bushmaster AR-15 DCM lower m4gery upper 5000 rounds till first rifle related jam(the other was a bad round).. there was so much fouling in the bolt it did a light strike once... It didnt hiccup again, but I still cleaned the bolt and then went another 1000 rounds till last weekend when the bolt at one point did not move fast enough to strip the round... I am cleaning it now..because its time instead of oiling it. that is all. oh.. the shooting conditions were not the best. this includes 2 road trips to texas, about 15 trips to the desert 7 of them overnighters, and 6 of them with NASTY weather. This also includes a 2 gun match in foul weather and multiple other trips to regular ranges. I did oil it every now and then(maybe 6 times total and lightly)..but only where the bolt contacted the receiver. |
Aren't chrome bolts supposed to wear out your upper super fast? Read that someplace. Ben |
no idea...it is harder than the regular steel.. only if the surface is more abrasive. yeah.. i think a militech-1 treatment is in order LOL. |
