No. We owned a Hitachi VCR and video camera in 1984.I was 5.

Evidently we rented one as early as 1983, but I don't remember.

11/70's were still in use well into the 80's (yes I know the VAX 11/780 came out in 1977, but didn't really take off into the business space until early 1980)

I still have 8 undeveloped dics.  They are from my first WestPac in 1991.  I am afraid of what might be on them!  I wonder if they can still develop those.

they got everybody's attention when they rang

almost every one that I know of was hard wired into the owner's car/truck and the horn was hooked up as the ringer

In non urban areas those old analog phones were great.
