My AC quit working so while checking it out under the hood I hear this hum sound from the compressor for 3 seconds then it quits wait 3 seconds it will do it again & so on .....
So my questions for the AC gurus is ..... Is the clutch out, or is there to much clutch air gap, OR is one of the AC low or high side cutoff switches doing this ? As far as I know this still has the original factory compressor in it. Also the car only has 86,xxx on it. THANKS ! In advance ! |
| Just curious, but when you hear the hum do you hear a click? Is your compressor kicking on and off? You can tell by looking at the front of the compressor. If the clutch is kicking in and out, that usually means your system is low on refridgerant. I would go and buy a charging hose that has a pressure gauge built in. You can attach it to your low side port and get an idea of what's going on. |
