I did finally get a new blade and a quite spiffy one.  WIC had suggested sometime ago to join the Emerson Knives FB group which I did.  There also another FB group that buys/sells/trades Emersons.  I like Emerson knives in that they are in that sweet spot of quality, durability and value.  They're not inexpensive but not so much that if something went wrong like it breaking or you losing it, you wouldn't be pissed off.

Now Emerson makes full customs as well but of course they have full custom prices.  Think over $1k to $5k with real collectable models approaching $8k.

So some enterprising men came up with a cottage industry of customizing Emersons from thumb disks to scales to backstraps to pocket clips. Some of the knives that end up looking like the full customs at a glance are called 'po-boys' after the sandwich.

A poor boy's way of getting a semi custom Emerson at about 1/3 or less than a real one.  Emerson seems to have embraced this set up.  There's probably more than I know but there's at least three guys that seem to dominate.  All make nice parts for you to put on or you can send your knife to them.

Now I've wanted a Specwar since I saw one but missed out on the latest release.  A couple of weeks ago, I found a Specwar-B (tanto blade) po-boy that was posted two minutes before and I snagged it.  I have to say I like it so much, I've carried it everyday since then.  Only thing I want to change is getting a better looking pivot and a custom pocket clip.

These are not green, but they are the only other flippers I have. and the fin is hideous, but they are still really nice knives. The neon fin ain't so bad.

I have a few I tolerate that were already in my possession, but I have vowed to bring now more into this household.

the fin really wrecks the lines. worse than spydie holes. well, maybe not that bad.

They used to be like $30. Lol

I don't even see one on eBay. They must not have been that popular.

I got mine on closeout, because they didn't sell. Think I paid ~$15

It was nice,  novel, but too small.

Peña has a cool flipper on some of their knives. It disengages and hides. I played with a couple and they’re definitely neat but Peña’s all seem on the smaller side from what I’ve seen.

Yeah that's a kickstop, same idea as on the Shiro 110. Trying to remember, I think another company has it licensed from Lee Williams as well and is making a knife with it, but I'm blocked.

Oh, wait, that F22 I mentioned the other day had it. But there's at least one more, too.

Of course the real issue isn’t solved by the Lee Williams design, which is the abomination sticking out when the knife is closed.

Consensus seemed to be Ritter RSK or Hogue Deka so went with the Ritter mini RSK for my niece. I shipped direct to her so will have to get feedback from her upon receipt.

Thank you all for the suggestions, hope she likes it.

I'll get her to send some pictures as well once recieved.
Chinese I know, but reall decent blade.

It appears you’re correct. I wonder why the scrap steel, anointed by Odin trailer park blade smiths haven’t caught onto it instead of wire rope, railroad spikes, and craftsman carbide tipped circular saw blades.

Needed to stuff my face hole with something quick last night so spiralized a Ball Park ⓡ jumbo all beef frank, threw it in the air fryer, and then slapped it on a slice of almost fresh baked bread. It was sufficient, though certainly not brag-worthy.
