Not as bad. It's definitely dry here, so it's slightly less uncomfortable.

WTF

My tools were warm to the touch just sitting in the shade in the shop. It was weird grabbing any steel item and it was warmer than my hands.

It was 80-something% percent humidity. I was chugging water all day but I think I was getting close to heat stroke. About a half hour before quitting time I started getting chills and vision would go fuzzy.

Yeah that shit is dangerous. Scary when it gets to that point. It was hot as hell here in Central TX last week but has cooled off dramatically today. Only 92 today.

I spent a lot of time in Iraq and Afghanistan, so it takes a lot of heat to put a hurting on me, but age is a cruel mistress.

The heat index is right in line with you at 118f but it doesn't feel as bad. Still hot, but tolerable.

Just sucks because it was actually really nice last weekend.

Last week there were a couple mornings that were in the high-40's. Supposed to rain tonight and knock the heat down.

Yeah, that’s not good man.

Keep a couple of these in the shop/truck:
Liquid IV

You don’t need to have one every day, but they really help for days like today.
Sugar free versions are available too.
One packet in a normal water bottle will help you recover or prevent getting that bad.
Still need to be drinking water, but these help alot in rough weather.

One of a kind at this point. I messed up the handle material on the first try for his knife handle so instead of scrapping that material, I designed a bottle opener around the scrap to put it to use.

That’s also when I decided to taper the stripe.
