Now, I do have caraway seeds. Just no fennel on hand.

Don't have a knife pic on hand, so here's a work pic.

I was talking to a friend that teaches in Asheville last night. He was talking about all the cuts his school is facing. His department made the cut this year after protest.

Said he might get out of academia in a few years. I asked what he would do. He said consult or something.

If he liked fennel,  I wouldn't be going to him to consult about anything.

We should add that to our essential question list for all new employees. 1. Do you like dogs? 2. Do you like fennel?

Was kind of a not good retirer today. Helped out at a lumber mill. He is milling up and giving me three cherry trees for payment on fixing his tractor.
Figured I could at least help.
First load. The other two trees are still out in a field. He says he has an apple tree also if I want it.
Log was a little over 4 foot long. Got 3-4 and 5 inch thick pieces.

BEAUTIFUL cherry wood.  My favorite. A friend was able to make a 12' bar top with cherry planks.  He left the bark on the edges and put a gazillion coats of urethane on the bar top after they sanded it to a super smoothness.  Totally jealous, it was super nice.
