Is when everyone and their grandma starts talking about it and wanting to get into it
Anyone remember the real estate crash? Right before suddenly everyone wanted to be a real estate investor If you are in Bitcoin I'd recommend to get out NOW |

Quoted: Isn't all the cryptocurrency following the same pattern? there are 3 main types SHA-256, SHA-256d, and script, there are a few more but those are the main 3. They follow the same algorithmic patterns within their respective groups. When it comes to crypto, Bitcoin crashing would be the best possible outcome for Altcoins (less competition). It would deter them from using that coin, and possibly even that algorithm of other coins if people were scared enough. Litecoin is SHA-256d, if BTC crashes then LTC investors will be sitting on a beach earning |

i assume you are referring to the '14 crash here, the problem here is that after the crash people started referring to all cryptos as ponzi, or pyramid schemes, this is what lead to the altcoin crash. By now there is enough of a market base for altcoins that this name calling wont lose investors, but will likely gain people transferring from BTC IMHO. I'm by no means an economics expert, so this is just my 2 cents Additionally, I had an account on coinbase, btc-e, and cryptsy. Btc-e and cryptsy both fucked me out of my holdings. Speculation and gambling is fun and all, and as more people hear about it I am sure the values will keep booming, but IMO it is more risky than gambling, because when you are ahead at the casino you can take your money out. In virtual coin, it is only as good as what some nerd doesn't steal. |

Quoted: btc-e still exists. It's at wex.nz or something like that, same creds to login, part of your balance is still available. The last time I tried they had my account suspended because of inactivity to "protect me" and no matter what I did OVER 2 MONTHS it wasn't acceptable to "verify" my identity...... FUNNY HOW I DIDN'T NEED TO VERIFY MY FUCKING IDENTITY WHEN I OPENED AND USED THE ACCOUNT FOR OVER A YEAR. Fucking con men. |

you're just mad you didn't get in on free money I wont invest in crypto currency because it's literally taking money that is accepted everywhere and exchanging it for something that isn't. Don't believe me? Try to buy a silver coin from me using bitcoins. I bet you can't do it. I would sell one to you for the right amount of dollars, though. |

btc-e was the most reliable of the unlicensed exchanges. Maybe because they were laundering Karpeles money, but they were reliable. Quoted:

Crypto is still fairly early in the adoption phase. Give it another 30 years and it may be far more universally accepted. |

I think a lot of people don't yet see that blockchain and crypto is a disruptive technology that is shaking the pillars of the world financial systems. Banking, brokerage, mortgages are all industries that will become obsolete as we currently know them. Blockchain will have far reaching consequences -- land titles, insurance, automotive service records, anything that deals in records/settlements/ownership is going to be supplanted by a more efficient version of that industry utilizing blockchain tech |

Of course there will be some corrections. But the long term performance of bitcoin is likely to stabilize and be pretty good. Nasdaq will be adding futures trading for digital currencies around the end of the year. Acceptance stabilizes the market. Digital currency is becoming established and isn't going away. It's going to become bigger. However, I doubt that the explosive growth of bitcoin is going to continue. It'll start levelling out soon. |

How about that gold crash last year, dropped almost $1000 an ounce. When's the last time you bought something with gold? Naysayers hoping crypto holders go broke, tv will never catch on, computers are just a fad etc. When billionaires say take a chance on 5% of your worth because you will recover in a year from it but the upside is huge, you should listen. Nobody should risk more than what they pay for a weekend out drinking or gambling. You'll never earn anything drinking or gambling in the long run. Quoted:
