TA01NSN, bought off the EE here.
Sight reticle is blurry. Can't see the numbers too well, and the scope is as far back on the rail (M4A3 upper) as it will go. Solution, or is this normal? I know the dials only move the reticle, since there's no way to zoom in/out or focus that I know of. What's the deal here? |

This thing's a 4x zoom right? (Going by the 4x32) What's the max distance I should be looking to see clear with this?
Distance is kinda blurry too. This isn't like the Leupold scope I'm used to tinkering with Been looking out my window at stuff in the distance. Closer trees look MUCH clearer than those in the distance, which is a given anyway, but the thing is, the distance ain't too much to begin with. Plus, in the dark (as dark as I can make it in the house, what with the sunlight), I can see the yellow dot a little bit. But there's no man shaped object on the reticle. If it's there, it's really fuckin small. Maybe I missed something somewhere. |

You realize the man shaped object in the reticle pictures is there for demonstration purposes and not really part of the reticle, right? Take a look at HawkeyeNFO's post of a TA01 reticle on this page it is pretty representive of the BDC reticles used in ACOGS. My TA01 looks a bit small but not the least bit blurry at any range over 20 yards. |

I'll check it out in proper outside tomorrow. If it's still blurry, maybe it's my eyes. I do wonder though, if the yellow reticle only shows up in bitch black, what good is it if you can't see much aside from the yellow dot? |

The extreme right edge of the reticule is blurry but is not considered a defect and yes the illumination is faint & will only show up at night I take it you sold it to him? SELL AN ACOG???? Blasphemy! no, thats how the are. The NSN has no fiberoptic tube = black reticule in the day |

When I first got it (off of EE) I thought I got screwed but found out otherwise. It's gtg. |

Yeah, I tossed on my dad's pair of glasses and checked, the reticle seemed more clear. I guess it is my eyes, but this is weird, since the Leupold I have clears things up big time.
I'm gonna have to take it outdoors in proper daylight to check, so far it's either been through a screen at a long distance, or in the dark to see the amber dot, or at a white wall to try and see the crosshairs clearly. |

You can tune a "normal" scope at the eyepiece and parallax normally to take account of your eyes..... I lost a contact lens once while shooting and just readjusted the eyepiece focus and parallax to compensate. You can't do that with a Trij (least not the one I've got) so it will magnify any problems you have. Check it out in daylight, without a screen door in the way, if you are still having problems I'd get your eyes tested. If your eyes are fine then I'd contact Trijicon. |

Your eyes are fucked. Go to the doc. I wear contacts, and when I look through my Acog (same as yours) it takes a few blinks to get a clear view. Quoted:
Took it out in the yard for a bit. The picture quality is clear out to a certain distance, but the crosshair itself remains blurry. However, like I said, it looked okay with the glasses on. What do you make of it? |

From what i recall during Lasik they cut a flap in the cornea the hit it with the laser. PRK they just remove the cornea and let it grow back which leaves no chance of the flap lifting later on down the road. Recovery for me was a breeze. I just had itchy dry eyes for a day or so. |

What's wrong with the existing cornea that would necessitate having it cut so it would grow back? It's not shaped right. The shape controls where the image focuses. Either ahead or behind the point where it should. When given the chance to reshape it will usually drastically improve it's focus point. |

A little correction to your vision will make the reticle blurry. |

What do you make of it? If you look at something a good distance away, you're either going to see a clear target, or a clear reticle. Can't do both at the same time. Also, your Leupold may be clearer to you because you adjusted the focus on it. Let me ask you this- If you look at a white (or just "plain") wall through the scope in the room you're in, and adjust your eyes, is the reticle clear? |

Normally I can see good enough to get through to day and drive just fine, with squinting for long distance (not while driving). Quoted:
