Is it just me or is that Spike's logo I see there? http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/bacr-tfb-tm.jpg It's a watermark, check the other photos. I thought the same thing at first. All they need to do is upgrade the gas system to a modern DI and it would be perfect.

I'll wear a look of absolute surprise on my face if they release it. I'm still quite skeptical. It'll be the look any man would wear if you walked into your house and found the Swedish Bikini team waiting... Naked
I'd be further surprised if they market it for anywhere under $2000 like they said they were going to from the get go. They'll probably pull the same scam FN did when they released the SCAR and F2000 for *WAY* more than the rifle's actually worth. Particularly in the SCAR's case when you can get a superior rifle for a third the price. The CheaperThanDirtification where these companies charge triple and quadruple is becoming par for the course. |

Damn nice rifles!

Quoted:
That handguard looks Magpul'ish... and I love my MOE, that'd be cool on the ACR. What gave it away? The Magpul logo?
You must have forgotten Magpul developed the rifle. Bushmaster is just making them. I only want one if I can get a ten inch barrel and the triangle stock. If not, I'll stick to my ARs. The boot stock is hideous. |
|
Quoted: I'm really curious of a RDIAS will work in that trigger group. I'd buy one and the ACR when it comes out. I've read that it will not. Also, the ATF ruled that an auto sear designed for one type of host may not be used in another completely different gun. I believe it was in regards to FN FNC sears being used in SCARs. |
|
Quoted: Is it just me or does the exposed spring in front of the handguard look like a major fail point? Edit....on second thought....they're cooling fins and not a spring???? What is it? http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/piston_2-tfb.jpg That's not a spring. It looks to be a ribbed piece of steel to aid in cooling the piston system. The piston spring is under the hand guards. |
| I've tried not to get excited about any of the new guns out there (FN 2000, XCR, Aug-mimics, ...) but everytime I see the specs on the Masada/ACR I start to count my pennies and contemplate what I can sell to buy one (after the initial swoon ends - there's no way I'm paying a cost multiplier just to be first in the cool line). |
|
Quoted: I just hope when they offer caliber conversions, the replacement lowers for 5.45 and 7.62 accept standard off-the-shelf steel and polymer AK magazines. That way I can roll with my mountains of proven, reliable, pre-ban magazines and cheap ass ammo. So about 2015, 2016 time frame then? |

The boot stock is hideous. I can't see any logos on the small pic, but I'll assume you're right. I haven't looked into the ACR at all, so I know nothing about it. But thanks for the info |
