My AC turned out to not be up to par for the rising temperatures. I bought a refill kit that has Oil in it already Product
The air was pretty cool already so I was scared to put too much in there and mess everything up. I blasted about half a can (15oz of coolant in a can so I guess about 7 oz) and now the AC blows cold. The BS gauge they have on the can though still shows it lower than what they say it should be. Would you dump more in there or wait till it stops blowing as cold? I don't want to pay 100+ bucks to have it done properly because I figure I am on borrowed time on my compressor anyways and I will wait till it dies to have it serviced. My car is supposed to have 2.2 pounds in it. |

If it's cold enough right now, you should probably leave it be. That is what I was thinking but was just slightly concerned about it not having enough to lube the compressor. No matter what I think I will leave it alone and see how it does for the next couple of weekends. |

Well, you can wait until the compressor dies and get it fixed, but then it'll be a matter of how much time/labor it takes to clean and flush the system, and if any other components need to be replaced because they can't be cleaned. In any case, it's irrelevant now. If a shop has a refrigerant identifier and a sealer ID kit, and they check your car, they probably won't fuck with it, or it'll be even more expensive than the 100 bucks or so it would have taken to properly recover, sweep and charge the system. |

You saying the sealer that was in the can I put in there is bad and will cause problems if I have to have the system worked on? |

Sealers are a no-go for A/C systems, for anything really IMO. Most reasonable shops ain't gonna risk their equipment messing with a car that may have a sealer in it. |

The only refrigerant that had oil in it also had the sealer stuff so i just went with it. |

The companies out there ain't helping matters much; I'd like to burn Interdynamics to the ground and piss on the ashes, if I could do it legally. |

I barely put any in there, checking out the can now I think it was about 1/3 of it. Assuming I need to put a little more next year should I just go with the kind without oil? I think I just had some seepage because the winter was so long here it went a very long time without being turned on. |
