Anyone know of a good online reference for taking out and putting in an AK trigger group? |
|
www.gunsnet.net/Linx310/index.shtml Hope this helps, mostly geared towards romainian ak's,but I think they all come apart the same For some reason the first time I tried to post this url,it came up as a site for ovarian polops ![]() should work now |
Never done it so I dont know, however from what I understand the wire spring that holds in the pins, not sure what it is called should be in the intructions,is a bitch to get back in untill you have done it a few times.Cant remember where, but someone sells a metal retainer plate to make it easier to intall. |
I think it is Tapco where I got the trigger group from. |
| I am by no means an expert on the ak trigger group, however tapco sells two different kinds, one a double hook, and a single hook. From what I understand, your reciever has to be correct in order to use a double hook trigger.I think that sight gives a pretty good explanition of that, and maybe some reviews of different after market triggers for the ak.Good luck with your ak. |

AK's have different configurations. Some have the Double-Claw trigger (i.e. Hungarians) and others have the Single-Claw (i.e. Romanian SAR's, Polish). At the bottom of your AK receiver, where the trigger is, you should see the cuts for where the claw portion extends to. Doesn't matter if you have a single or double claw, paper clip works fine to keep everything in place or you can spend $12 dollars for a retainer plate from Red Star. Hope that Tapco set is an adjustable trigger set. You may need to file your parts a little. |
Thanks! I appreciate the info. Now all I have to do is learn how to bump fire! My understanding is that you gotta jerk it with your left hand if you are a righty! That will be something different for me.

Don't hold on to the pistol grip. Just place your trigger finger in front of the trigger and pull forward with your left hand. Try doing bursts first. When you get the hang of it, you'll be able to dump full mags like the official. RedStar Arms has a nice adjustable trigger set that I recommend. Don't know anything about the TAPCO version. |
