Saw the license plate frame in the shop page but no plate. Has there ever been an official plate available for sale?

It depends on the state. I think it starts around 2,000. Thats harder to achieve than it might seem. I know one regional chapter of a nation group with a lot of paying members in two states that could make the number in one state - but not in a large adjacent state. The latter have tried for over a decade.

Yeah I thought about a blank tag with the decal. Back in the 70s my folks were in the Shell service station business. We had license plate assortment, we had all the classics, drive like hell you'll get there, if your so smart why aren't you rich, etc. These were stamped steel and the company that sold them also made custom ones. My folks had some made up with the business name, city, phone number. Don't know what that would cost today but I imagine it would be a pretty strong seller in the ARFCOM store.
