Our dishwasher's about 5 years old. Recently, it has been pumping water out the air gap.

What could be causing this?

Get a new one that also shovels the driveway and makes sammiches.

This is what I would recommend.  But get something that lasts a bit longer than 5 years.  But no, really.  I don't wash dishes.  That's why I'm married.

Bought my dishwasher a new GE dishwasher earlier this summer.  Efficient, quiet, cleans dishes real good.  Ask me in 5 years how it's doing and I'll let ya know

I was thinking of upgrading to a newer model but I have already put the maintenance into the current one.  If I upgraded other than new and fancier looking I am not sure what I would be in for both short and long term.  While the new model is sure to be impressive will it weather as well or faster than the old one?  Serious pros/cons to either option.
