TLDR:  Tim Allen is a conservative, likes Kasich and Trump, and hates the FSA, Obama and Hillary.

You know, Tim "The Tool Man Taylor" Allen from "Home Improvement"?

The voice of 'Buzz Lightyear' from "Toy Story" ?

Yeah, that Tim Allen.

Sure, he was arrested for drug smuggling many years ago...but who hasn't been?

Meanwhile, I just read an interview he did recently in 'The Hollywood Reporter' about his current show "Last Man Standing" reaching 100-episodes (a major milestone for most TV shows).  Personally, I've never seen "Last Man Standing", and didn't know he was on it, nor that it had been on for years.  Go figure.  Have you seen it?

When asked who's idea it was that his character on the show should have "loud conservative political views", he responded that the idea was his...that he wanted his character to be an "educated Archie Bunker".
View Quote

When asked "how much is playing this right-leaning character an outlent for you to express your own political views?", he responded "It's getting more and more comfortable.  These guys (the liberal writers) know me so well that they're writing stuff that is exactly what I would've said.  It's a marvelous thing when you have liberal people writing for a show like this.."
View Quote

Asked "Has the line between you and your character blurred over the years?", he responded "It definitely has.  If you go see my stand-up...in Vegas...it tends to be very angry about self-reliance.  I'm not going to say it's conservative, but it certainly is not left.  For most of my life, I've been taxed above 38 percent.  When you're a young guy working the road and literally close to half of what you make goes to people who don't help you at all but just bitch about it the whole time, that's where I come from. I come from "no taxation without representation," and it manifests itself in very peculiar points of view."
View Quote

Asked "how are you different than (your character)?", he replied, "He's milder than I am.  You wouldn't want to hear what I have to say.  Escalate (my character) with profanity and that's basically me.  He's much more tepid because he's a business owner.  (My character) is calmed way down, and I'm definitely not that guy."
View Quote

Asked "what riles you up the most?", he replies, "Unearned responses, unearned praise, unearned income:  I have opinions about it.  When you watch the debates, on both sides you see clowns who say shit that ain't ever going to happen, but lately one party is the free shit party. They are just telling people they're going to get all sorts of free shit.  When you say you're going to get free education, free health care, -fuck-, free brown loafers - of course everybody's going to say yes to that.  But you don't mean it.  That's how you rack up debt, and debt is killing us.  Whatever party is going to get us out debt is my party."
View Quote

Asked "what party is that?", he said "I met with John Kasich, a great guy.  He's a Republican that Democrats would vote for, a Republican the Republicans should respect.  But he's not saying provocative things.  He's not glib enough or he doesn't speak well enough because somehow he doesn't get traction.  So we'll end up with somebody scary."
View Quote

Asked "who scares you?", he said "Well, we asked the female writing staff if they'd vote for Hillary just because she's a woman, and they all said yes.  So then the question was "So if Sarah Palin was the female?" They all choked and they had to say, "Oh God, yes, we'd vote for her."  I didn't quite buy it.  I don't think you should vote for somebody just because they're tall, thin, yellow, green, whatever. Bernie Sanders, as nice a guy as he is, none of that shit's going to happen.  And Trump can't send everybody to Mexico or whatever the fuck he said.  But give that guy the roads, bridges, infrastructure, power grid - just have him fix that shit for four years.  He's good at that.  And he's a businessman so he understands how debt load works.  Forget that stupid shit he says about immigrants.  That's just ignorant.  But he might be able to do the stuff that really needs fixing."
View Quote

Asked "so you're not opposed to Trump?", he replies "I'm not opposed to anybody if their workload matches their bullshit load"
View Quote

Asked "why has your (TV) show gone after Hillary but not Trump?" he says, "It's a little surprising to me.  We have a very liberal writing staff, so I'm surprised they haven't taken a shot at him.  But we're not sure he's going to last, whereas the Clintons are like herpes: Just when you think they're gone, they show up again."
View Quote

Asked "didn't you try a bit (on the TV show) about  Obama raising the communist flag at the White House that never made it to air", he said "We got network notes saying you can't call the president a communist.  So, of course, I really wanted to.  I do it in rehearsal all day long."

Bought the Home Improvement box set a couple years ago.  Last Man Standing is a great show.  I'd buy him a beer.

But the show is good enough to have 2 threads. I'll allow it

Damn good show I enjoy watching when I can.

There are fewer and fewer shows appropriate for kids we can watch in our house, so we watch Last Man Standing. They've had a few Home Improvement actors on over the years. My kid hates Obama, so he gets a kick out of all the anit liberal stuff.

The ignorant ones are those that refuse to see what Islamic immigrants are doing around the world and learn a lesson from it. Letting in masses of young men of a completely antithetical culture who are also religious fanatics is beyond ignorant, it's fucking suicidal.

I grew up on it. The series finale, when Wilson showed his face, one of the coolest TV show moments.

Even though his picture wasn't hard to find, it wasnt the same as him showing it on Home Improvement.

OK....that was ironic.

I just went to a Starbucks in Studio City, CA to do a FTF deal with a guy for some camera equipment, and while I was there...who should walk in for some java?

Tim Freakin' Allen.

I said 'hi' even though I've never met him before.  No pics, so I'll get the fuck out.

...Just another day in Hollywood...

I worked as a welder in a performance exhaust shop specializing in Vettes.

Made one for Mr. Allen.

He sent a hand written letter (with picture of him w/car)expressing thanks and gratuity to the quality of all of our workmanship.

Seems like a good guy based solely on that, to me. Seemed sincere and didnt have to do that.
