We have the movie thread. What books would you recommend before someone posts?
My choices.
1) The M-16 Field Manual
2) Blackhawk Down, it is a great book and will prepare you for the 7.62 vs. 5.56mm
threads.
3) Unintended Consequences (I still need to read this one.

-In the company of heros

-Bostons gun bible

-101 things to do till the revolution

These are all good books, but boston is a little stupid. He contradicts himself quite abit

One example is when he says dont bother with drums for the AK as they are now more than 100$, they are heavy, slow to load. 4 30rds provide same Firepower for less than half the$$

Then in the AR15 section he says to get a beta mag for the AR  if you live in the city blah blah.

Boston's is a great choice, I don't agree w/ everything he posts but he does his research.

+1 on UC and Atlas, both are excellent reads.

Alas Babylon is another good choice. It is about a small Florida community.

And I would also include a good history or sourcebook about the AR/M-16. I own the one by Duncan Long, but I would like a better, updated version.
