Is there a way to select what drive the software will only scan while in use or does the software scan every drive in the computer?

Multiple drives connected and I only want scans to be performed on the C drive.

Yes

Not for real time scanning; but you can make other choices that would not scan what you were accessing and still maintain real time scanning

It would be nice to not have the software scan other drives and programs.

2015 version here.

Seems like the software scans everything connected inside the computer.

If you mean extensions and such, seems like that was doable.

The manual that came with it and the help file, was limited in info and left a lot to be desired in the way of specifics.

I may have missed something.

I'm not installing avg to find out where it is, but look for realtime protection and set it to scan only on execute, and then set up scans for your whole computer when you want it to

This would exclude realtime scanning on media, which I assume is what we are talking about, and still scan them during a scheduled scan
