Hi guys, I'm not good with cars, other than some of the components names. I know my A/C compressor is making a ticking noise when it decides to come on. Kinda like maybe the belt is slipping just a split second. It makes the same noise when it shuts down. What could be making the noise? Can it be fixed without buying a new compressor? It still blows cold air, should I just ignor the noise until it stops working? (that doesn't sound like a good idea to me...lol) By the way, it's a 2000 chevy silverado v6. Thanks! ETA: It sounds like the pulley is making the noise, when the clutch engages and disengages (center of pulley starts spinning, then stops), if that helps out any... |
it has ticked since I got it, but it's gotten louder. I guess I should have said that... Most of them tick a little. but mine is ticking loud enough I can hear it when going down the road with my window rolled down. It sounds like a rock hitting under my truck, instead of the muffled little tick it used to make... |
