[ARCHIVED THREAD] - A/C problems

Starting last night my A/C (6 year old Ruud) has two problems:
- the blower will not shut off unless I cut power at the breaker.
- the compressor never kicks on so it only blows warm air.
Is there anything I can troubleshhot before calling in a pro?

I am assuming gas furnace with and air conditioner.
If both problems happened at the same time my guesses would be:
1) Thermostat batteries dead.
2) Control board in furnace broken.
3) Thermostat broken.
Do you have a multimeter?

It is AC+heat pump and yes, both problems started at the same time.
