Sat down in an IHOP this morning for a quick breakfast before a meeting.
Two female soldiers came in and sat down and ordered. I asked the waitress to give me their check and I paid it for them. I did not approach them because they were talking shop but I thanked them for their service with a pancake breakfast. It doesn't get done enough for our men and women in uniform. God bless them all. I think I was in Denver on a lay over, I tried, but the tab had already been picked up by some other good sam in the bar. That to made me smile |

That is a great story and a great picture! Good on that Marine. I spent a summer on a drilling rig in Port Arthur and the humidity was pretty damned brutal there. We kept a 62" fan on the floor right next to us at all times and the only thing it did was keep flys away. You'd still sweat buckets. |

And standing in the summer sun in Blues sucks to say the least. Not to this Marine. SEMPER FI. (lump in throat) Oh trust me, he feels it. But that is what makes a Marine, it sucks but you get shit done anyway. |

But that is what makes a Marine, it sucks but you get shit done anyway. HONOR, COURAGE, LOYALTY, words that to some have lost their meaning, not to our men and women in uniform, and specially not to US Marines. I am former Army, but I have tons of respect and admiration for the Marines. |

Damn allergies!
It just brings to mind the saying: Character is what you display when noone's looking. (Or something to that effect) (As in you will get no praise, but you do it anyway because it is right) Many things can be said about Marines, and all true, but one thing you can never do is question their honor and their patriotism. (At least I'm not man enough to)
