My GF almost never eats vegetables. Mostly meat, chicken, pasta, bread, and peanutbutter. The closest thing to a vegetable I have ever see. Her eat was some salsa at a Mexican restaurant.

Now she was recently diagnosed with significant bone loss. Does her diet have anything to do with it?

She is 58 and otherwise very healthy. She runs, bikes, lifts weights and can carry a surprisingly heavy backpack all day.

How about dairy? Women are more susceptible to bone loss than men are. Diet can be a cause of bone loss. Diets high in animal proteins as compared to that obtained from plants can increase the risks of osteoporosis. Just from what I have read on my own about it. My mom has some bone loss associated with osteoporosis...

Wife had low bone density due to Gluten allergy.  Went off gluten and her bone density went back to normal levels in a few months.

From what I've read in Paleo, salt processes through the system and takes calcium with it. Check the Paleo thread.

Its probably a lack of calcium and Vitamin D, and just her genetics.
