I know some guys here like bashing leos.I figured i share a story about an experiance i had with an leo.

I think i was 10 at the time i was out riding my bike i stopped to talk to someone so i wasnt really paying attention well somone cmes up snatches my bike.So anyway after giving a description to the cops the officer takes me around in his car to look for my bike he was pretty coll actually even though i was pissed about my bike it was kinda fun he flipped on the lights and siren on the way back home(didnt find my bike)damn police cars acclerate fast.

About 2 weeks after this i am outside and i see a cop car rolling down the street and i see its the same cop who took me to look for my bike and in the back of his cruiser is my bike. The person who stole it got hit by a car  it had a dent in it and a bent rim wasnt to bad just needed a new rim. I thanked the cop i wish i had remembered his name i would have liked be able to thank him today for being an all around great cop.

Hey i know not all cops are good guys but hey you know they are just people like you and me they get pissed when they have bad days, they get shit from people alot to.

The officer that day didnt have to do any of that but he did he could have just said we will never find it forget about it. This happened when i lived in Philadelphia in 90s.

Insert "dog" for "bike" in your story and odds are he would have brought you back your dog, in a plastic bag. They can't help it, they're cops.

Lol, I read in another thread that a K9 ripped a perps nut off. Ouch.

Cool story, BTW.

I never jump in on cop bashing threads , because I know quite a few
and I respect them for the job they do . I also know that every profession
has it's bad apples . Bad LEO's just tend to stick out more because of high profile
that comes with the job .

My old Supervisor was a cop & he used to tell me how he used to have to keep an eye on his stuff (gun, wallet, stuff like that) in the locker rooms because they had Cops that would steal from other Cops.  He told me too many guys had their guns' stolen in that locker room.  He would also tell me how some of the Departments were racist and told him that the only reason they offered him a Job in that City's Department was because they needed a minority (Black, Hispanic, Asian) so that the Department would not be criticised by the media and creat a scandal, and that if it weren't for that reason they would never have offered him the job.
