Link![]() I've seen potty trained cats before, but never a potty trained pet BOB FREAKING CAT. I want one... |
| You have to have a screw loose to keep a bobcat as a pet. Normal cats have thousands of years of domestication in their breeding and they can still be psychotic. That bobcat can't be more than one generation out of the wild and it's instincts are probably still VERY strong. A bobcat can mess you up if provoked. |

There's a few names for domestic cat/bobcat hybrids.. Pixie Bob, Desert Lynx, etc. If that thing isn't hosing off a wall from floor to cieling, my bet is he's a mutt. IIRC 3 generations away from the wildcat and you get an animal with distinctive bobcat markings, ear tufts, perhaps a bobbed tail, big paws, and a remarkably fine disposition. Owners claimed they love water, are quite intelligent, can easily be taught tricks, and overall behave rather more like a dog than a common housecat. I was doing some research into the breed shortly before I met my now wife. She was a package deal with a puffy white persian who doesn't deal well with other pets, so that's on hold at least until this one coughs it's last hairball. ETA- no way.. Not a hybrid, that thing is way too big for that. Gorgeous cat, but yea.. Definitely a screw loose in anyone who keeps wildcats. |

A girl I work with knows some people that have a pet bobcat. Apparently, it's kind of unnerving to be sitting on someones couch, and have a large wild cat that you had no previous knowledge of hop into your lap and expect to be petted. It apparently acted like a bigger and smarter domestic cat. |
Actually I have heard domestic grown ones are pretty tame, except they like to piss all over everything and tear shit with their claws. I read that when a stranger enters the home, they hide somewhere and dont come out until the stranger leaves, then they inspect the whole house. I really want one, but it sounds like a big responsibility, |
