OK, when I get on my homepage or whatever it's called, I can see where some of my friends have written something (usually pointlessly mundane), and people can respond to them. That part I understand.
Anyway, I went to the icon where it lets me look at all of the people I have added as "friends." I clicked on a girl that I hadn't heard anything from since we added one another as friends on Facebook. When her page came up it had tons of updates on her wall that never appeared on MY page. I checked another guy's profile and the same thing: he had a bunch of little threads running on his page but I never saw them on mine. Is this something I need to fix on my page or is it some kind of thing that they did so their little updates aren't broadcasted to every person on their friends list? This really puts a damper on my cyber-stalking, damn it!!! |

People can change their personal privacy settings so that some things are not published on the main page. You'll have to be a more hard-working stalker and go to each page individually. ![]() So, are they picking certain people whom they want to automatically see their updates or do all of their friends have to specifically click on that person's page to see their updates? I guess what I'm really asking is, "have I been fricking blackballed by these jerks!!?" |

It could be that you just aren't looking at your Home page often enough. The stuff they're posting might be phased out of your Home page by the time you check it. Just looking at mine, it looks like the status updates and what not of my friends only go back about one or two hours on my home page. It could also be that they just aren't publishing stuff so that it get's posted to all their friends Home pages. Another possibility is that you could be seeing the initial "Status Update" of your friends on your Home page, but by the time all the comments get posted to it they're already phased out of your Home. Posting a comment on another person's status doesn't bump it back up to the top of everyone's home page. They only way to be at the top of the Home page is to have an entirely new status posted. That status is then knocked down by the subsequent newer status updates of other people, until it's not on your Home page anymore. Wasn't exactly sure what you were asking, so I'm just throwing a few theories out there. |

People can control what they want you to see. What the kicker was for me is I got status updates from someone I friend requested but didn't respond for weeks. I eventually "canceled the connection". Deej, if I don't have a page in your memory book yet, remember me as the bitter, friendless Facebook stalker! |

I think you're not seeing what goes on with them and their friends. Unless I'm friends with, say, my sister AND the person she's responding to, I don't see that interaction. I only see what my sister initiates. If she goes to someone's wall and posts a comment the only thing it'll show me when I look at her wall is that she commented on so-and-so's wall but I don't see the comment itself.
And people can also have different subsets within their friends list so if they want to only post something for their work colleagues they can do so without Aunt Marie seeing it and vice versa so that may be it also. |

Where's that option? Never mind - looked for it and found it right away. I never knew that was there. THANKS! |

I'll throw in that I have about 660 facebook friends, so there's no way I see all of their updates all the time. If you are actually blocked from seeing something, then you wouldn't be able to find it even when you visit their page. There's really no way to tell if you're on limited profile or if the person you're looking at just has a bare bones profile. |
