| I have a full-length 1/2" riser on my flat top to accomodate my el-cheapo reflex-style red dot (more like to accomodate my neck when using said red dot). I have a standard A2 FSB. I want to add a flip-up rear BUIS, to look through the red dot. Is there any BUIS that will work with my riser, or do I need to get a shorter (length) riser and then put the BUIS directly on the flat top? |

As far as I know,you have to put the rear sight on the receiver. |

Actually I think Blue answered it for me. I was wondering if there was a BUIS that would go on top of my riser and still work.
On second thought, and after actually pulling out the gun to look at it a fiftieth time, I don't know that I really need the riser in the first place.... |

You probably don't need the riser,I guess it depends on what kind of co-witness you want,and what kind of mount you're using,better to ask in the tech forum probably. |

I'm going to try it again without the riser. The first time I shot it I didn't have the riser and it was somewhat uncomfortable and the front sight was in my field of view. With the 1/2" riser it's less uncomfortable, and the FSB is completely out of my field of view, but no way it would work with a BUIS.
I'd really like to co-witness my red dot with the front sight. With no riser it's too low, with 1/2" riser it's too high... I almost need a 1/4" riser (good luck with that)... |
