| I have a Dell laptop with a Core Duo at around 1.7ghz. It has 512 mb ram. Would putting in another 1/2 gig stick make an appreciable difference in surfing the web and/or streaming Youtube or similar video? |

depends on how many browser tabs or windows you have open, and how many programs you have running. if you have anti-virus and anti-spyware running and you open half a dozen or more tabs or windows of your browser, it would probably help. When you feel it bogging down, press Ctrl-Alt-Delete and look at the "Performance" tab of the task manager. If the Page File Usage History bar is maxed out, more RAM will help you. |
