What's the current thought on adjustable buttplates for a Post Ban Ar? The actual stock and buffer tube doesn't collapse under the legal limit, but an extendable butt plate can be moved in and out by a few inches beyond the minimum length. The stock and buffer itself cannot be made shorter with completely destroying it. What's the thought? |

I have asked a few people this and never received an answer. I would think it would be okay because you are just adjusting the length of pull a few inches and it would probably require some type of tool to adjust the stock. However, I would want an ATF letter before I did it. TS |
| Telescoping is one of the no-nos they look for. I have a stock for my ar which is a recoil tube and a clamp on butt plate (can't remember the Manuf right now) since the butt plate clamps over the tube and if you loosen it up you can adjust the tube legnth, it's only about an inch, it is considered collapsible and hence "Pre-Ban." At least that's what the manufacturer said the ATF told him. |
