| Any computer guys out there that know how to covert PDF to microsoft word h.gif. I need to be able to edit/add text to the form. I tried cut and paste, but I wasn't able to edit. I'll print out the form and hand write it if I have tohinking.gif. I thought I would at least ask. |

Acrobat reader isn't designed for editing, even the full version of Acrobat is pretty limited. If you want to set up a page with full layout capabilities you need Pagemaker, InDesign or Quark. In Acrobat (full version) you can do minor editing & thats about it. It's actually one of the things that Acrobat is getting so popular for, when you send a PDF it will remain just the way you sent it with little chance of any alteration. Any PDF is supposed to be done right when created, cause you can't do much after that. As far as converting to Word.... don't even try, but then, why would anyone use a Microsoft product for document creation/editing? I'm a graphic designer & I'm here to tell you... Microsoft sucks. |
If you're ordering an M1 from the CMP, they have a version of the application form on their web site that can be edited like a real web form.

This is wrong on so many levels.. You're talking about Photoshop (PSD files), he's talking about Acrobat (PDF) files. |

PDF files are a pain. Apparently the city likes them and while we can work with them, we still get files from archetects in .pdf when a .dwg (acad) would have been smaller and of actual use. Send a frikkin fax instead of .pdf's, it takes less time and computer time... OOPS! didn't mean to turn it into a rant... My Dell Win98 version of word will import them. I have the Adobe package too, it's easiest. |
| Thanks for the replieshe I wanted to be able to add text using the computer because the requirements are to fill out the app. by typing or black ink. Using a word processer sucks and I don't have one and I can't write small enough to fit every little detail in the small ass lines provided..so I guess I'm sol. |
