Guess the last thread got archived http://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=1&f=134&t=1336166&page=6 Pics from today. Beautiful weather here in SoCal this weekend. Clear, calm and warm. Amazing how much solitude you can get from a few miles of dirt road. |

Hope you had a spare tube or patch kit for your KTM. Sweet place to get a flat! I was on the worst road in Death Valley last year in the spring and got a flat rear tire. I had my "gear bag" with me and thought all was good. Until I opened it and remembered that I'd pulled the tube in the fall to lessen the load. Lesson learned. I also found out I can ride about 30 miles on gravel and 15 miles on pavement on a flat rear tire. It was throwing chunks for the last few miles but the wheel is good. |

Joe, what brand/model seat is that on the KTM?

man... I don't know about that new KTM 1190. I thought for sure I was going to love the looks of this bike (I love all the other new model KTMs)... but this thing actually kinda reminds me of an older generation V-Strom. I'm sure it doesn't ride like a Strom though. http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/wp-content/gallery/2013-ktm-1190-adventure/2013-ktm-1190-adventure-studio-02.jpg http://www.suzuki-bikes.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/2010-Suzuki-VStrom650-DL650a.jpg I can assure you that once you ride one you will forget everything you thought you knew about adventure bikes. |

Derek, what's the seat height and how did you get that in the US? 860/875 mm depending on the seat adjustment. I am a KTM dealer. Back in June I got a chance to go to the factory in Austria and buy it. I rode it around for a few weeks and then they shipped it to me. ETA: We are ordering the US model in a few weeks and they will be on showrooms soon. |
