I thought for sure this was going to be a political thread.

Might help if you told everyone exactly what kind of Benchmade you are trying to replace. Picture especially is helpful

So it was a one of a kind blade with no stock pictures on the net? And now you want people to suggest random knives that you may or may not find to be a suitable replacement for this mystery knife of yours?

I like the griptilian myself. Very reasonably priced EDC.

I don't believe I could go on with out my bench made it's not made any more either supposedly because of a Spyderco law suit. Try egay for a replacement. I've seen a few there in the past.

It doesn't get much better than benchmade.  I have a couple well worn examples I love. My favorite is the 9100 sbk auto stryker.  The new BENCHMADE 5000 MEL PARDUE AUTO AXIS is a nice piece of kit to.

Depends on your state, in most civilians can most certainly buy and own them.

I really love my Mini-Presidio.

It has been my every day companion for over a year now. Still works like it is new.

He can own an auto in Ohio, but more than likely, his job doesn't entitle him to carry one.  (Certain civilian jobs allow for carrying of auto knives)

Illegal in PA.  There's so many decent autos out there that I'd like to own, but alas.  I can carry a gun just about anywhere, but not an automatic knife.  Figures.

Anyway, I've been around the block with knives.  Carried everything from Chris Reeve Sebenzas to Kershaw Speedsafes, Emersons, a couple of Benchmades (have a mini-Grip in D2 that's pretty decent) to plain old SAKs (Swiss Army Knife), a few customs, and some fixed blades (still carry an Ed Chavar "fang", wicked little thing).
I'm carrying Spydercos now.  Love the VG-10 steel (even over S30V, though I'm itching to play with ZDP 189).  Lighter than a popcorn fart. Affordable.  The GLOCK of knives.

I would feel the same way about my Spyderco Delica, it is about that old.

Of course I would just replace it and the feeling would go away...
